Hey everyone, I'm Steph. My bf surprised me with a dirtbike on Valentine's day so I've just been trying to figure it out!

I did crash into my first tree this past weekend (and judging by the amount of times he claims he does this, I feel like it's a right of passage) so I guess so far things are going well ::up::

Cool, congrats! What kind of bike did you end up getting?

The Honda Rider Education Center in Alpharetta has a great program to start riding, check out their site/options:

Good luck with the new ride, hope you enjoy the sport for a long time to come! ::cheers::

It's an 03 Suzuki dr-z 125

He managed to find one that had hardly been ridden. And I can pick it up with no problem if I fall and drop it, so that's a plus.

He's convinced I'm going to want a bigger/more powerful bike by the end of the summer, but we'll see!

When is the next spa day??

I think spa day is the second saturday in may but not 100% sure. There is usually a post made a week before just as a reminder too. Lots of fun!

Yep - May 11, less than 4 weeks away!

Welcome to the family, Steph! Looking forward to meeting you.

I 2nd the recommendation for one of the programs at the American Honda complex in Alpharetta. Several of us got started with the Dirt n the Skirt class there - all girls and taught by girls. The program is fantastic and so are the instructors. Can't say enough good things about it.

We are typically at Highland Park every Saturday, but my husband was put on the DL this past weekend, so it will probably be another week or two before he's ready to come out with me (a few more before he's ready to ride).

Spa day is the second Saturday of every-other month. Next one is in May like PW said. You will love it. We have a blast, and Paul and one or two other fellas are so good to us and really make the day fun. The guys all get together and ride that day too. They are a wonderful group as well.

When we are there, we park in the small grassy area between the cabins and the fence. White F150. Maybe an open trailer. Both of us ride KTMs numbered 114.

Hope we see you soon. I can introduce you to some of my favorite trails...and trees!

Awesome! I'll most likely go to that...it'll be after my next running race so I won't have to be paranoid about making myself sore.

We usually go to wrens, ga and ride there with Dennis because it's private and there are less people...I'm still nervous to get around too many other riders at once. But I've read good things about spa day so I think I'll be ok!
