Started riding 2 + years ago. I turn 48 next month. I ride one day a week usually at HP. I love the technical challenge of the trails at the park. I will enter my first race at HP in December. Everyone thinks i'm nuts too. They just don't understand and I feel sorry for them ::smirk:: . I am taking better care of myself now than I ever have just so I can ride. Now with the added incentive of being able to race at my skill level at HP thats even more incentive to practice and be healthy.

I wished that it was that simple. I fractured my back in 5 places in 07 and sometimes the pain level can be a challenge.

So sorry to hear about the back pain Andy741 - I understand back pain is the worst and the most difficult to treat... will lift a little prayer for you!

I rode Sunday for the first time in 25 years. The worst part were my arms would not stop burning. I now know how out of shape I am. Time to start working out. I just want to thank Dennis for not making that much fun of me.

Yup, I understand. I cracked two lower vertebra when I was 14 on a trampoline. Pain has been an issue ever since. That put an end to riding until I was 17. Even then I had limit what I did. Core body strength focusing on the spinal area and stretching helps the most. I am thinking about starting yoga.

Thanks for the prayers rnr_ragamuffin!! I was having a good time at the time of the accident leading the A SS class at a SORCS race. Raced since 1973 with some time off for children through the 80's started back in mid 90es.

Blackie, I appreciate the advice and I agree with you on the core strength it does help. I had surgery in March which helped some. We will see how it goes.
