HIGHLAND PARK SIX HOUR TEAM RACE
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 31 - New Year's Eve. Race starts 9am, ends 3pm. Pick up trophies, go home and party like it's 2018 already! Monday is New Year's Day, time to recover before going back to work.

Online pre registration is available now! Teams must have a team name so everyone on the team can register under that team name and we can place you with your team.

Approximately 18 mile course running all over the Park, 45 min to 1 hour per lap depending on your speed. Almost zero time on perimeter loops.

MX tracks and the PeeWee track will be open race day for regular riding at a reduced rate, all trails will be closed to regular riding that day.

Trophies back to third place, and all winning team members get a trophy, not just one trophy per team. No gate fee, no camping fee. Get your teams together!

Sounds awesome Paul. I know its going to be a blast.

I really wish SORCS would not have scheduled on top of that day. I let them know hoping they would skip it but....

Will you have electronic scoring at this one?

We do the Zombie and the 6 hour team race on the same weekends every year, Eddie knows that. You were not the only one that mentioned it, but I think it's a business thing for Eddie. I don't mean that in a derogatory way, it's just business, nothing more. :)

Everyone loved the last Six Hour we did, and you can bet this one will be even better. ::up::

Yeah, it is, but he may have a much smaller turn out due to doing that. I posted the flyer in the SORCS area of Facebook and its gotten A LOT of likes and comments. If thats a sign.......

I have been getting questions about the team age classes, and I know it can seem confusing, but the rule is this:
The whole team has to ride in the class in which the youngest and fastest rider fits.

In other words, a 40+ rider can ride in a younger class, like 30+, but not in an older class, like 50+.

Class structure:

EXPERT - Any combination of A & B riders (ages must match class entered)
INTERMEDIATE - Any combination of B & C riders (ages must match class entered)
SPORTSMAN - C riders only (ages must match class entered)

Each team must have a team name, as that is how scoring will be done for different riders on one team. I'll have preregistration up in a few days.

The course will be approx 18 miles long, plenty of passing available, expect 45 min to 1 hour per lap depending on your speed.

Gonna be epic!

I've had a few questions about sign up, so I'll try to sort that tout as simply as possible.

You can sign up online once we have the form up (this week), or sign up in person. Either way, you can do it individually, no need to sign up altogether at one time as a team. However, everyone on your team has to provide the same team name so we know who is on each team. Pick out a team name and make sure everyone on the team knows it before they sign up.

Less than one week to go for the Six Hour Team Race! No rain predicted this week at all. There is a slight (30%) chance of a little snow dusting around 8pm Sunday night, but the race will have been over for 5 hours by then. The course is awesome, almost 100% of it is getting prepped by hand or with equipment. Expect a stellar event.

I VERY STRONGLY suggest everyone preregister, or at least come out on Sat afternoon to register in person and set up your pit area. Either way, I suggest your team sends at least one person out on Saturday to select your pit road space and set up your pit area. Trying to get your whole team registered and your pit area set up and having a rider on the line by 8:50am for the riders meeting Sunday morning is going to be a crazy rush. Preregistration means you walk in, pick up your race package, and go directly to pit road to set up. There is no risk with preregistration, if your team does not make the race, just let us know and your money will be refunded. On site registration open noon - 5pm Saturday, and 6:30am - 8:30am Sunday morning. Online preregistration closes Friday at midnight.

Pit road will be down in the grass parking area below MX1. The start will be in the MX1 starting area, but there will be no MX included in the course. All trails!

It's going to be reasonably cool Sunday morning for the first lap or two of the race, bring layers of warm clothing so when you are standing around waiting on your turn to ride, you are not cold. After years of riding and working in the cold, I have learned that a pair of those 8 - 10 hour chemical hand warmers and foot warmers really work. I put the hand warmer packs inside my gloves on the back side of my hand where they don't interfere with my grip, and they sure help keep my fingers warm. Wearing a pair of latex gloves inside your cold weather gloves - with the hand warmers - is even better. 40 degrees in the afternoon, not bad for middle of the Winter, but I will have a fire going in a 55 gal drum near pit road for those folks that want a warm up now and then.

Awesome prepped course, about 18 miles around, don't miss it!

Curious if there are any other 40+ sportsman riders out there for a pick up team.

Be cool to find a cpl other vintage riders for a fun ride.

I am 50+ but don't care what age class I race in and am a decent rider, be glad to race with you if we could get one more person, I really would rather not ironman it if possible.
