I've had some questions about the kids race course. It will not be the same as the adult course, it will be shorter and more compatible with kids and small bikes.

I'm looking forward to this and can't wait to get out to HP. The two moto format sounds fun and the practice lap is definitely cool. I will have to carry a saw with me on my practice lap to make some hot lines. ::smirk::

There is a typo in the adult classes. It says 50+ ADV, which of course should be 650+ ADV. ::duh::

Some folks have asked about trophies, and it's not our standard 3 trophies per class for this race, so I'll try to clear it up. Some of the classes, such as Trail Rider and 40+ C for example, have heavier participation than most of the other classes, so we are going to do 4th and even some 5th place trophies in those classes that end up with the largest participation.

For those not racing the Zombie, please keep in mind that Highland Park will still be open to regular riding that Sunday (Oct 22). Only MX1 and 3 trails will be closed, and they will only be closed until about 2pm. Almost all of the Hare Scrambles course is new trail or dedicated HS race trails.

In other words, MX2, MX3, 95% of the trails, and the PeeWee track will all be open during the race, MX1 and the 3 closed trails open about 2pm.

But... if you miss out on racing the new format Zombie, you are really missing something. Best course we have ever had for a Hare Scrambles race, by far. ::up::

I'm getting some questions about 14 and 15 yr olds, and what class they fit into. I understand that some 14 and 15 yr olds have been racing for years already, and don't fit in the Jr Trail class or Youth class. What I have told parents is sign them up for the class that is closest to what they normally run in SORCS or SETRA.

Just don't sign them up for any of the vet classes. :D

One lap practice, and each moto is two laps, five laps total. About 30 min per lap depending on each riders speed, so about a half hour for practice, one hour each moto.

I have been working on the Zombie course a lot the last 2 months. No one would believe me if I mentioned how many hours have gone into it so far, so I'll just say that this is the best Hare Scrambles course ever at HP, and is very likely the best HS course anyone reading this has ever raced or will ever race. I think I have become obsessed and after all the work scouting and hand cutting new trail, reworking existing trail, I'm now walking every foot of the course and hand grooming it, including picking out rocks and cutting out roots. The course is as perfect, primo, unbelievable, and crazy fun as it can be. I promise, you do not want to miss riding this course. Even if you have never raced before, you do not want to miss this. ::up::

Looking forward to it! Will there be any singletrack or will it be primarily 2 track harescramble style trail?
