Just a reminder, the Bootlegger Enduro is this coming weekend. Located in the foothills of the NC mountains in North Wilkesboro NC, it will be the most fun you will have on a dirt bike in ages. Raceable by all skill levels, the race is put on by the UNIFOUR Trail Bike Club, which consists of a bunch of old school endure guys!  Bring the whole family for a weekend of fun. North Wilkesboro is located close to all the vineyards and wineries of the Yadkin Valley region as well as an easy drive to the beautiful high country ( Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk) of the NC mountains. See www.setra.org for all the info and flyers.
Hope to see you there...look for the old, out of shape, grey headed guy in the second section (I think that's where I'm working).....boy that description should REALLY narrow it down  out of a bunch of old enduro guys

Given the deluge of rain rolling through GA & SC a lot of folks might like to know what the terrain situation is there? ::popcorn::

Looks like 2.5" for the last 24 hrs (5/23 12am - 5/24 12am)

Best,
- c bob

CBOB,
Quit being a buzzkill?
Some moisture will make those trails "pristine".
See you there.

From Chris Doran, SETRA President -
Quote:
I just spoke with Ron Miller who is on the property and he said they
had a good amount of rain but no big flood or anything, and that there
has not been any rain there in a while and it was very dry and it does
drain well. If the forecast holds, it should be perfect conditions for
the enduro. I think we need to get the word out that as of now the
race is still going to be run and conditions should be good. They
cancelled the gncc today so maybe we can get some of those riders
also. They have not had many riders pre enter so there are plenty of
good rows left also. Thanks for the help.

Best,
- c bob

We were up there Sunday and some rain won't hurt a bit. It's hilly terrain, but not too steep. It will dry up in the next few days and be perfect. Kinda like Goldilocks porridge.......... j u s t right! ::yippie::

More news from Unifour Trail Bike Club through Chris Doran concerning Bootlegger Enduro -
Quote:
Thanks. Just got off of the phone with the crew up there and the weather is beautiful today and the trails are shaping up well. The club has decided to do a pro purse of $250 for overall and $100 for second overall. Also, they will have sign up open until 7 and would encourage people to sign up on Saturday if possible. The parking and road in is heavily graveled so there should be no problems with getting in and out with Campers, trailers, etc.

PRO PURSE???

C'mon, get ya some!

Best,

Yup, "Old School Enduro" just like it said at sign-up. ::applause:: ::applause::

Would have been phenomenal without that overnight storm. Last section was the worst. Slime City!

I hope to have scores up by Wednesday. They'll be up within 24 hrs of me getting them.

Best,

Thanks to everyone that came out. Wish the rain would have passed by on Sat night, but not much can be done about that.
I worked the out check in the 3rd section and when we went back in to sweep the section, it was pretty darn good after you guys had beat all the water out of it! ::rofl::
Hopefully, next time will have better conditions. Once again, thanks to everyone that showed.. ::applause::

Congratulations to Zack Hayes for taking Overall at the 2017 Bootlegger Enduro

Results for the race are posted on the Results page. Conditions were PERFECT on Saturday but a late night storm went through the race area with just enough rain to make the trails a tad bit greasy for Sunday’s race. Despite the greasy conditions there were very few bottlenecks and plenty of Unifour Trail Bike Club members to assist in the few areas needed. Congratulations to the club for trail layout and great race execution. For those that finished a tip of the visor as this was a classic “old school enduro”.
