Why are these on the same date? Wanted to do both. The Full Gas Sprint Enduro at Big Buck will definitely affect the turn out at the volunteer.

The Volunteer is on the same weekend year in, year out. All others should check John B's schedule first.

It's going to hurt setra's turnout not the full gas turnout

But the Full Gas guys set their schedule at the beginning of the year well before the current SETRA schedule was ever released. I highly doubt that Hoop would know John's race is on the same weekend every year. Heck, I've followed SETRA for a long time and I didn't realize it's on the exact same weekend.

Washington is about 5or 6 hrs from Bybee. The real racers will go to Tennessee. we worked on the trail yesterday. It rocks, and well, there are rocks.

NCHSA race ~ 15 miles from the Full Gas event on the same weekend. There once was a time when a harescramble was somewhat of a novelty and more than 20 quality enduros in the southeast. Times have changed for sure and it's a shame that new riders missed out on the "Golden Age" of off-road racing

I'm curious as to what makes someone a real racer. We will be at Sprint Enduro so what does that make us? and those going to SORCS or NCHSA? The interesting part is that attitude is what has kept me away from SETRA for the past 5 years after racing it 15+ years.
Either way it is pretty awesome to have 4 choices of race venues on 1 weekend.

I'm with you. Having 4 choices is a great problem to have.

I've raced SORCS, GNCC, MidSouth, National Enduro, the TKO, Touch Like RORR, but never SETRA........I wonder why? ::whatever::

Gonna come across like Captain Obvious here but some communication and cooperation would help all involved if even possible with so many harescrambles in our neck of the woods. Aonia and the course for the NCHSA race have at least two races per year and both were past clapped out years ago. Bybee does see some rehab after the race there and the guys that prepares the Fullgas course do a great job with prep of there tests, both groups are friends of mine and hope they both do well.

I've looked at Full Gas Sprint enduro and seems like it's a lot of waiting for a few special tests, kinda like mx. That's not for me - I'd rather ride for a few hours.

Coordinating all these races with different schedules would be like herding cats. In SETRA's case they don't set the schedule, the race promoters picks their dates. SETRA then has to coordinate all the different promoters dates and try to fit them in. Now add 3-4 more promoters with full schedules of their own. Anyone want to volunteer as an independent multi-sanction coordinator? ::rotf::

Lots of promoters schedule the same date each year, like Labor Day, first Sunday in October, first Sunday in November, 3rd Sunday in January, last Sunday in January, Sunday before Bike Week, Thursday of Bike Week (although that one's been moving around a bit). And that's just SETRA enduros . . . . . I hadn't figured out hare scrambles, NEPG, GNCC, etc.

But change is one thing we can all rely on. ::popcorn::

Best,
- c bob

The way I see it, you are a real racer if you go to any of the 4 events! Attitude goes a long way in how something is successful. Hopefully, some of this attitude can go away with some new volunteers we have in the SETRA organization. We can use some more volunteers and positive attitudes if anybody is interested? Hope to see you at Perry Mountain skr! ::up::
