Dang Pumkin I was about to offer up my bike to you since I'm still on restriction until May 5th. You could come out and hang with me and cheer them on! ::cheer:: ::cheer:: ::cheer::

Thanks Donna I appreciate it. Still very protective of the knee. No meniscus so no cushion in there any more. Tracee that sounds great. Will definitely have to get together sometime.

Great to hear from you on GOR, Sandy. Sure would love to see you soon. We all miss you! You can ride my bike anytime you want to...and if you don't want to ride, we can sit on the porch and visit...I'm much better at that than riding anyhow!

:D

This is a email I got from Tony C

Not sure of your excitement for Spa Day???
West Coast it’s all about the Baja 1000, East Coast we do a little Alabama style,
It’s called the “Barbwire 1000”. Still takes a lot of training just a few different drill’s.

Hmmmmmm

::paranoia::

Sandy - I'm sure of it!

And Ken - I saw that very same email...he also apologized ahead of time for messing up my new plastics. I almost ::cry:: , but then realized that it's bound to happen sooner or later...and the faster I get it over with the less it will bother me. So what better time than Spa Day with Ken and Tony to "break in" or "break up" my new plastics! ::eek::

I want to sign my wife up for the Spa Day. Would someone mind posting the details?
What time it starts, where you meet( where at HP), how long it will last, etc...

I should mention that she has only ridden her dirt bike once, and she mostly practiced crashing. ::rofl:: Will her relative lack of experience preclude her from a Spa Day? I assume this sort of thing would be perfect, but I've assumed myself into some bad sitiations in the past. Now I ask.

Hi lcasteel. Would love to get meet your wife. I would say she needs a basic knowledge of riding to be able to enjoy the Spa Day experience. Have ya'll been to Highland Park to ride before? Being able to do the inner and outer loops would be a good test of having the basics down. Spa Day is all about learning and being challenged.
If ya'll have never ridden at Highland Park I would highly encourage you both to come out and ride and get a feel for the place.
Mr.Flipper and I will both be out there Sunday for Spa Day. I will be on foot since I'm still healing after a knee issue. Would love to meet you both.
To answer your previous questions it starts at 10:00am and we meet at the picnic tables beside the check in. It goes in 2 sessions. Morning session, break for lunch then afternoon until about 3 or so.
Hope this helps.

Flipper,

Thanks for the response. Yes, we have been to HP, and minus my earlier joke about crashing, my wife (Sandy) did not have much difficulty riding the inner or outer loops at HP. She rode mountain bikes while in college, and she has been on a street bike since 2009. She doesn't yet have the feel for a dirt bike, but she has no problems in terms of knowing where the controls are and using them. She would like to start developing correct techniques before riding too much and creating some bad habits.

I appreciate the info., and I look forward to meeting you guys Sunday.

Thank you again for the information! Oh, one more...is it just show and go, or does she need to sign-up somewhere?

Ken Brooks - Keep that up and YOU might not!
::smirk::

We would LOVE to meet new riders. And speaking for myself, I practice crashing a lot. But it's OK. We get bruised up and sweaty and dirty...and have an absolute blast doing it!

Oh - also lcasteel, you should check out the classes put on by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation at the Honda Facility in Alpharetta. I took the Dirt 'n the Skirt class and dearly loved it. Several of the ladies who ride at HP got started there. Here's a link to the website. http://www.offroad-training.org/ . You start the day learning the parts of a bike and how they work together and finish the day riding some trails. It's a blast. The instructors are great too.

The Dirt 'n the Skirt is a beginner's class, but they also have an intermediate trail class that is really good from what i hear.

Certainly worth a snoop on the website.

Hope we see you guys soon!
