This is why I've always loved the dirtbike community. I love the pay it forward. That has been my motto for many years. Thanks for showing there are still some awesome people in the world ckwheeler. In these hard times where it seems most are only looking out for themselves, it's so overwhelming to see. ::up::

That's great! I am really glad Lane, um, both of you are enjoying the new ride. Please let Lane know that Ethan looks forward to riding with him at HP.

Lane seems like a great kid.

Sorry Sean, but you need to cut the grass and rent a bobcat to build a few jumps. :)

::applause:: Thanks for sharing the pics, and thank you for the generous donation to Dream House on ckwheeler's behalf for "paying forward" the bike. What a great story. Makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside! :)

Ken just called me at work and told me I just HAD to get on GOR and read this thread...and now I see why!

I couldn't agree more - this is the best group of people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing!

Love our "dirty friends"!!! ::up::

This is a wonderful thing that yall have done. I love it! Amy, was good seeing you and your family. Kids are growing fast, arent they? They are so cute riding young when the helmets look so big on their heads. Then they grow up and tell us "Mom, you ride too slow!" ::rotf:: Congrats!

MQM-

I have a 2009 Yamaha ttr50 sitting in the garage. It needs a battery, but otherwise is perfect. My 8 year old son, Ethan, has moved to a 110. We were going to sell this bike but I have a better idea.

If Lane is willing to do the following two things, I will give him the bike for free:

1. He learns to take care of the motorcycle. Everything from washing, changing the oil, to lubing the chain after each ride. Great way to reinforce responsibility and show riding is earned, not given.

2. Once he is ready to shred on a KTM, he agrees to give the bike to another deserving child to learn to ride on, with the same conditions agreed to by that child.

I don't know your financial ability to pay, but if you are adament about paying something, give a donation to the dreamhouse or charity of your choice instead.

We live in Rome, so it would be easy to meet you at HP and drop off the bike. Ethan enjoys riding there as much as he can. Just let me know if you are interested and we can set up the drop-off. BTW, if Lane is like Ethan, you better have a charged battery with you so he can ride. I also have some riding gear, pants/shirt/gloves from when we purchased the bike that may fit Lane.

That is totally cool, no wonder I like getting on GOR so much.
