Kate turned 5 today and is learning on her JR50. My wife rides an atv and I would love to get her on a bike. :)

My wife and both my daughters (age 14 and 17) ride bikes. My youngest races at all the DP races in the womens class. She is currently holding 2nd place. if you want to meet some ladies and daughters riding you should really go to DP on a weekend. There, you will probably meet 50 or more in one place enjoying the same sport. We ride all the time but primarily stay away from the 2-way parks. Experienced far toooooooo many close calls as well as head-ons with "Pin-Heads" on the wrong side of the trail going far to fast for their skill level.

ev,
We would surely like to meet you an your family. I have seen your posts as well as heard some really nice things about you and yours. My wife and daughters as well as myself really enjoy meeting female riders. This sport has really come a long way in the past couple years. 2 years ago it was almost unheard of to see a female riding now you see them everywhere and most of them ar REALLY good riders. I like seeing that.
Maybe we'll see you on the trail sometime...

Vic and family

Hi Vic, I have a daughter, but she is only 4, but if she is anything like her Momma, I have a feeling we will be riding buddies someday(I hope)
But, since she isn't old enough yet, maybe I can ride with all your girls :D I would love to go riding with you guys sometime! I even thought about racing at DP, but I am kinda chicken when it comes to that. :P
I haven't been to DP in ages(like 3 years), and have been thinking about getting over there someday. I also have 5 & 6 year old boys, my 6 year old just started riding, so hubby and I were talking about getting him to the pee wee track at DP. Maybe you can let me know when you guys will be out there. I didn't mean to impose on your invite to Ev, but you probably won't see her much at DP.

:)

Both my son and daughter ride with me. I took her up to Whissy and did almost every trail. She is 10 and my son is 13. We met Ev and her hubbie that day. She did better than I thought!!

My wife rides, and she loves it too. Although at the moment she is not riding do to the fact that she is pregnant. It does not matter to me if it is a boy or girl that comes out. If they want to ride bikes in the future, then they will. My wife can not wait to get back on her bike.

Y’all make this sound like a family sport.....LOL

Where would be the best place to see a family type environment? I am in Cumming, GA and would like to take a day trip for them all to see what we may be getting into.

Who knows, maybe my wife and daughter will be getting a surprise for Christmas depending on their response to the trip.

I ride along with my wife and my kids. I have (3) daughters age 12, 11 and 3. Our 3 year old rides along wtih us, the others ride: crf 50, ttr 125 (they share with the wife) and my ttr 250. My youngest boy is only year so he has to learn to walk first!

I think it is a great way for a family to get dirty together on the weekends.

Hi gretchenbill,

Welcome to GOR. Sounds like you have a house full of dirt bike riders!

Good for you and your family!

Hope to see you and the family out on the trails sometime. :)

Hey jim5150,

Come to Highland Park this weekend and get a feel for what's going on with the family thing. Paul is giving a beginners women's class on Saturday (8/26). I will be riding there with my sister. I am also bringing another sister and some friends to hang out and lend us support.

My wife and daughters just started riding. My girls are 3 and 7 and both on TTR50's with training wheels at this point. 7 year old should loose them soon.
Wife is just putting around on a KLX110 with the girls at this point.

Thanks for the welcome KTMmomma.

You are correct, we have a house full of riders! I took my 2 older girls to Broad River sunday. We had a blast riding through the mud. I have to say that the staff at Broad River is exceptionally friendly and helpful.

I'll be riding this weekend at Highland Park and participating in the class. I'm not new to riding. However, haven't been on a bike since about age 20. My husband just gave me a new Yamaha TTR230. We've been out warming it up over the past few weeks and I'm really excited about getting back into it. Hope to see some of you ladies at HP tomorrow.
