This thread was split from the topic "Dal Soggio RAY Fork Tuning Kit for WP 4CS" . . . .

Yup, setting up a mid-week appointment - tried that, even setting up weeks in advance (like a dentist appt). Response was drop it off and we'll try to have it ready in 2 weeks. Has this changed?

Best,

1-2 week turn around and no appointment sounds about right for those who post links to their competitors. :D
JK. When I was riding/racing ever weekend I'd leave my bike with them Sunday and pick it up the following weekend. If I only needed the shock serviced I just leave it and always had it back by Thursday. A piece of oak works great as a temp shock to get the bike home.

Just depends on the work load. It's not uncommon to have 6 or 8 bikes in line for suspension work, and don't forget we have forks and shocks shipped in almost daily. Sometimes when we are extra busy, we have to put everyone in order for service work, because if we keep putting smaller jobs ahead of the customers that are already in line, those customers already waiting would end end up waiting a month to get their bikes back. Can't do that.

All I was asking is to be placed in the que for the next available service, not pre-empting someone already in line. The only difference is I get to ride for a week or three while waiting for service appointment. When my service appointment comes due the forks / shock will be in your shop and back out in a few hours ready to go home. But no, it can't seem to work that way. ::rollieyes::

OK, I understand now what you are asking. However, it's not as easy as you might imagine to stop working on one customer's suspension that is spread all over the workbench, and open up another customers suspension. It really really works best to finish the fork or shock you are working on rather than have a total interruption right in the middle of your work, push it all to the side and start on something else, then later that day, go back and start over on the other suspension. Even if we did what you are asking, your suspension would wait until we finished the current job for us to start on yours. And what if the job prior to yours turned into extra work because of worn out parts, or we are running a little behind that day and already have suspension promised out that has been in the shop for 2 weeks? As I said, it's just not as easy as you might imagine to stop working on a customer's suspension and move to another suspension job.

If we had a terrible reputation and did crappy work, our backlog of work would go away and your request would be easier to accommodate, but then you wouldn't want to bring your work here! :)

No worries then! Let me charge what your dentist charges, and I will hire a receptionist to call you! ::up:: ::up::

Last trip my DDS charged ME $106.50 including cleaning, minor repair and fluoride treatment. Similar to a bi-annual fork refresh. I'll look forward to your call when I set up my June appointment. Oh and make sure she has a sexy Italian voice. ::up::

Yes, yes it is, and completely destroying a perfectly good thread (sorry!). It just boggles my mind why this is so difficult to achieve. ::duh::

I'm going to split this into a separate thread so all the whining stays in one place . . . . .
