I rode Town Creek single track loop Saturday 4/9 for the first time. The second half of the loop seemed to have been hit pretty hard by the storms and some fairly large trees were down across the trail in about 10 places. Not sure if GARTRA is aware or already has a work day planned or not just wanted to give a heads up. That said we still had a great time and solidified the fact that the wife needs something smaller than the xt225. Thank you GARTRA and everyone who does such good work setting up and maintaining these trails!

At this point I think too small would be the better direction. She can't pick it up off the ground if it falls and she just isn't ready for a more powerful bike. The rooty single track on that heavy bike really wore her out but gave her a much needed boost in confidence, when I asked her if she wanted to come back she said "yeah when you get me a lighter bike!"

If you wanted to trade, we might entertain the idea?

I am wanting to hang on to the 225 to dual sport on, I do have a 98 Yamaha rt180 that is about the same size and makes comparable power, I would entertain offers of trading that + cash. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=65001 is the for sale link. Feel free to PM me if you are interested.

Yeah. I understand. I am also looking for a small bore dual sport for her, but we only have so much room for bikes. I am doing a little better thinning the herd. I'm down to 6 with only one non running unit, its mostly a parts bike.

I feel your pain currently up to 4 bikes in my apartment garage plus tools, gear, and a little storage eats up a lot of room in a small space lol.

Thank you for the information about the trail conditions! We are coordinating our resources with the USFS to make an action plan. Next official work day is Saturday May 6th. The yellow pins indicate where most of the trees are down in the link to pictures. The USFS team is going to assess the damage and is considering hiring a contractor to assist with the large amount of trees down.

If anyone has pictures of the damage, please let me know as it helps us plot GPS info to assess the damage.

More info to come soon. Pictures of storm damage can be seen here:
