Yep. Would have preferred direct injection though.

Very cool Idea, already done with the 4t's. I wonder how the reception will be for the motocross guys when it eventually hits the SX line of bikes? Having ridden a 93' xt225 and a 16' xt250 back to back (the former carbureted and the latter FI'ed) there is a definite difference in the feel of the bikes, especially off idle. I wonder how that will translate to a 2t bike?

As for the direct injection, I am curious about that myself. Maybe there is too much parasitic loss associated with creating the pressures needed for DI for it to work on a small displacement motor. I think the LT1 in the c7 vettes use DI ran off of an extra camshaft lobe? A 2 stroke lacking that ability might be a stopping point too, but I am sure there are other methods some diesel guys or better mechanics than I could correct me on.

Not sure what the hold up is. Maybe Honda applying for a patent on DI impacted other manufacturers plans? Athena seems to have it figured out without parasitic loss:

Pretty good Athena vid. Hard to tell what the manufacturers are thinking, you are probably onto something with the Honda patent though.
