Anyone know what is the largest Golden Retriever? He is a pure breed Golden Retriever with papers. I got him when he was a puppy and saw his dad and mom and they were no where near this size and pure breed Golden Retrievers. He was actually the runt of the litter and than quickly found out he was becoming huge. I shaved him cause his hair is so thick during the summer that's why he looks strange. He got weighed last week at the vet and came in at 115 pounds!ImageImageHe is beside a Large German Shepherd about 75 pounds and he is over 6 ft tall standing on hind legs.He can put a basketball in his mouth and about 4-5 tennis balls. And his head comes to my chest standing on all fours.

Lab/golden mix, those are not normal legs for a golden.

Did you shave his hair or is he mix? My golden suddenly died last year at 11 y/o and he weighed right at 85 pounds, which is a perfect weight. He had no hip issues and still retrieved like a pup. I have seen Goldens over 100 lbs but most are simply overweight. Your dog doesnt look to be overweight.

He got shaved cause his hair was becoming a tangled mess!I wish I had a pic of him with hair he looks like a lion. He is solid muscle at 115 pounds and he is still growing at only 4. His testicales are the size of horses(which are at UTC now) and he had to have surgery on his eyes cause they are the same size as horse eyes and his eyelids werent big enough. So I had him fixed to not cause anyone else problems with breeding( the vet advised to get him fixed because of the eye issue). But other than that he is very healthy with no heart issues.

I asked the vet to if he was really 100% Golden Retriever and he said yes. His legs have been massive since he was little and his gut was so big it drug the floor when he would walk or in his case slide on his belly. And he can jump up on things that are around 5ft tall he just gets his front paws up and over and pulls himself up and over.

I work at a boarding facility so I see dogs all the time that seem way bigger or smaller than the breed "should" be. We board a Golden Retriever that is actually pretty small. I think she probably weighs in around 55-60 pounds. We have boarded a German Shepherd that was 65 pounds and boarded one that was over 100 pounds and it wasn't fat. We have boarded a boxer at 50 pounds and one that is over 70 and he isn't fat either. The list goes on and on. I'm not an animal expert so I don't know what causes some to be way bigger or smaller than others but it is kind of neat to see.

Oh yeah funny story. This lady was bringing in her Weimaraner and when I asked how much he weighed she told me 105 pounds. I was thinking to myself that he must be a very fat dog and so did everyone else, but we soon found out that he was just tall and big boned for that breed lol.

My golden looks a lot like yours. He is 110 lbs and is in pretty good shape from running with our other golden everyday. We shave him as well in the summer to cut down on shedding and give the dude some breathing room. They are incredible dogs

I have ''Skeet''..my 7 year old Registerd Yellow Lab.....145lbs.!! His mom was Chocolate..115lbs..and his dad Yellow..130lbs..I use to raise Chocolates..and ''Cody'' was my biggest one..he was 120lbs...Skeet is a big ole lovable dog. I took him on a dove field about 3 years ago...he picked up a dove..then when to sleep!! ::rofl:: That was ok..cause I'm not much of a dove hunter anyway...I'll post some pictures of him..The bigger Labs are beautiful..and fun..but they are just too big for hunting..the common weight for duck and dove dogs are around 55-60lbs.

Skeet has holes that you can lose a VW in!!..I put him a swimming pool in the Kennel...its a plastic one ,,he loves it..The kennel is 100ftx100ft..so him and our other dog has lots of room. We let them out to play with us too. ::yippie::
