An article on building a 314cc stroker motor from a 300 (293cc) KTM - can even be done with a 250.

That motor was the best woods/all around dirt bike engine I have ever ridden. May have to do another one soon...

Was that the 314 I rode on new years day, or was that a standard 300? It seemed pretty strong, even for a 500 guy...

The bike you rode is my new project bike - very strong, but no stroker crank.

Do you have similar options to improve and increase the power on the 200?

Porting, piston size, stroker, etc. Not that I will ever need it but can't help but wonder.

A couple years ago I did a 200 project bike for GNCC racing. Here is the 5 part series of articles. The motor was a rocket.

Thanks! I learned a ton. I didn't know you were once a 4 stroke rider...Hmmmm.
Does the 200xcw model change any of the mods needed? For example the does the tranny help the low end to mid power? I apologize for all the off topic questions you just got me thinking. ::geek::

He was a misguided soul but once he saw me on a 2 stroke he had to come over to the darkside. :D

The transmission on the XCW is great for technical trail riding and Enduros, also better for dirt road riding. The first couple of gears are lower than on the XC, the last couple of gears are higher than on the XC. For faster HS races, MX tracks, and open trails, the semi close ratio XC tranny works better.

Sweet article like always. That makes me want to experiment with my Gasgas engine or a 250 with a stroker. Whats the chance you would do some work on a Gasgas engine? Just for giggles mabe for next year.

No problem. Pack it in a cooler and ship it!
