Windy Gap has a large gravel parking area that will hold 15 trucks/trailers easily. There is a loading ramp at the top end of the lot, should you require one.

Trail Description(s):
From the parking area take the entrance (on the lower end) to the main trail.

This main trail will go for a ways before it comes to a trail on the right that we will call trail # 1. Then the main trail continues and comes to another trail on the right we will call trail # 2. Then the main trail will continue until it deadends.

Main Trail
Trail #1
Trail #2

Main Trail. This stretch is designated as Easy, with slight uphill climb with plenty of jumps (water bars). Be on the lookout for oncoming traffic as speeds can get high on this section. Designation: Easy.

Trail #1. Wide/small trail that winds past a creek crossing. It then turns into a dirt road that has many terraced areas. Fast, jumping, lots of corners, dirt road riding. Designation: Easy.

Trail #2. Marked "Expert Only". You begin with a hill climb over rocks and roots. The trail then makes many difficult uphill switch backs. Then the trail goes over LARGE rocks and slow difficult areas. Finally, this trail dead ends into a dirt road. The only way back to the main trail is by reversing course on Trail #2. This trail is single track and approximately 5.5 miles in length. Designation: Most difficult.
