Located approximately 70 miles east of Atlanta in Greene county.
From Atlanta, take I-285 to I-20 east. Drive approximately 70 miles to exit 130 (Hwy 44). Turn left and go over I-20. Continue north on Hwy 44 to downtown Greensboro.
Make a right at the traffic light. Turn left onto Penfeild Road, at the next traffic light. Take Penfield Road north from Greensboro 4 miles to Shiloh Church(on the left). Turn right on the dirt road. Follow dirt road until you reach a 'T'. Turn left on another dirt county road, go 7/8 miles which is past ATV B loop parking entrance, Forest Service Road 1241 (hunt camp). Trail head is on the left, big new parking lot. Past Robert's bike camp which is now closed.
From Northeast Atlanta/Athens - From Atlanta take 316 East to Hwy53. Turn right and travel towards Watkinsville. Hwy 53 dead ends at Hwy 441/15. Turn right and go through downtown Watkinsville. At the last light there is a fork in the road - take the left fork (not a hard left!) and continue down Hwy15. Hwy 15 will run through the Oconee National Forest. When you pass the 'Welcome to the Oconee National Forest' sign, start looking for Shiloh Church Rd on the left. Turn left on Shiloh Church and continue till the road comes to a T. Turn left, then make an immediate right onto the gravel Forest Service road. Travel till the gravel road comes to a T. Turn left (another gravel road) and go 7/8 miles which is past ATV B loop parking entrance, Forest Service Road 1241 on the left, big new parking lot. Past Robert's bike camp which is now closed.
For those coming from the Athens area, Shiloh Church Rd can be difficult to see. WIll try to add mile marker information. I'm pretty sure that Shiloh Church Rd is within a half mile of mile marker 18.
The directions as to where to park ATVs: take the gravel road on the left PRIOR to the hunt camp location. Also, the distance down that gravel road is about a mile. Seems like a LONG way.
