Track/Trail Feedback
Trail is a bit rocky in sections on the climb up to the ridge, but easy trails for the most part. My 8yr old was a little uneasy about a few of the downhills where the trail traverses some steep mountain slopes. There was a huge, impassable blowdown if you take the fork to the right at the beginning of the loop. Unfortunately for us, I went left (clockwise loop) and we found it from the uphill side and had to ride all the way back around to get to the parking lot again.
Least Favorite
Long drive down the FS road to the trailhead.
I wouldn't want to encounter an ATV speeding downhill on the trail sections that traverse the steep slopes where there is little room to get out of the way.
Most Favorite
No one else on the trail on a weekday.
Shady and cool due to the 2500ft elevation on the ridge.
Free.
Extras
The trail does not cross the creek as shown in some of the older photos; must have been rerouted some years ago.
If you ride north on the Tatum Lead trail from the junction, the ORV boundary sign is not visible unless you're going the opposite direction. If you start seeing real estate signs, you've gone too far.

The trails were nice for the most part, not much trash, some good clean spots and some rocky climbs.
Least Favorite
The two major things that really bother me about this place, is the fact that the trails are narrow just enough room for 1 atv, you don't have much room to get over when someone is either wanting to pass or is coming at you. Which brings me to the second part, people are coming in both directions and some of the turns and jumps you won't see them til you are right up on them, high risk for a crash and with the drops there could lead to an ugly situation. Also, some of the trails aren't clearly marked and you will end up on a trail you aren't supposed to be on with an ATV, and people have made their own trails and you won't really realize this until you are a good ways in it.
Most Favorite
Trails were clean, decent variety of trail conditions, it is more of a scenic place than a place to just go and get crazy. In my opinion it's more for casual riders, and family.
Extras
Are no bathrooms that I seen, just pull up a bush, which is fine with me, port'o'potties are generally disgusting anyway. The parking lot was clean, but was kind of congested when I got there at around 11. They have a ramp for loading/unloading.

Little muddy when we visited only because it had rained on thursday night & friday morning the day before. None the less it was a great ride. Would recommed for motorcycle or atv riding. Not to technical, would b great for family ride.
Least Favorite
Nothing really other than a little lengthy ride out dirt road to parking lot.
Most Favorite
Awesome views and well maintained. An excellent way to spend the day with family.
Extras
No bathrooms. Parking clean and in good shape just a little small. Was'nt a problem when we were there only one other vehicle there.

better than the 6 miles of dirtroad leading to the trailhead ;/
Least Favorite
no signs keep you from riding the horse + mtb trails, you will not see their trailmarkers until you turn around
Most Favorite
not sure if other people like this - I do not
the trail is wide open, a bit steep in places but not technical
as long as you have it to yourself the trail is fast and dangerous or slow and boring

someone called this trail 'scenic' hmmm this time of the year it is a green tunnel
Extras
a lot like the old military roads in northern Italy
you'd always meet a Guzzi LM1 two up, made me feel silly wearing full gear riding a dirtbike
nice trail for beginners or heavier dualsport bikes

The over all conditions were very good. They could get in there and clean up some of the larger fallen trees.
Least Favorite
Riders who don't respect the rights of others. The large dirts bikes have to remember that there are families out riding also.
Most Favorite
the trails were in great shape, and it was great fun for the whole family.
Extras
no bathrooms. the parking area was very clean and well maintained.
