Track/Trail Feedback
The trails were in very good shape. Some of the reviews stated that it wasn't rocky; however, I would say it was pretty rocky in somoe areas. I'm a rather new rider and will say this was way above my skill level. I was riding an ATV, so it's a bit tougher. I saw many guy eat it today on some of the hill climbs. These were very experienced riders on trail bikes. I'm not sure if it is true or not, but I was told this is one of the toughest rides in Georgia.
Least Favorite
Some of the hills towards the top had areas where there was a pretty big steps or ledges. This made it rather difficult to get up sometimes. I had to keep my quad in 4x4 all day.
Most Favorite
The trail system is very nice. Very challenging. If you're looking for a challenge, this is the place. The big hill climb was fun. There were also some very technical sections.
Extras
Everything was clean and nice. They do a good job with this place.

My son and I went up to Locast Stake today. Got to the parking area about 9Am
We were the only ones there for about 3 hours. Started to rain a bit harder then the sun peaked through the clouds ,and about 5 other trucks pulled into the parking lot. The trails had just enough rain to make it a really fun day.
Took a almost a hour to pressure wash the bike to get that red clay off.

I like the trails at Locust. Some sections are very fast, while other sections are more challenging. There are some decent size hills, and they do not have an excessive amount of rocks on them. There are some very rocky sections, but they are on gentle slopes.
Extras
Bathroom and parking area was typical for federal trails, generally clean.

Trail condition was excellent. There was a lot of variance in types of trails. I got a little confused as to the layout so I just rode trails without trying to figure out where they went. The trails on one side of the parking lot seemed to just be a bunch of loops that intersected each other over and over. This is a great place to warm up but the funnest riding is on the other side of the parking lot. The trails were just right for recreational riding. There weren't any trails that I would say required expert experience, but there were a few that were a nice challenge. A trail is blocked off by a metal fence like a highway railing that leads to an awesome railroad bridge. We parked the bikes and hiked the 100 yards to the bridge. You can't see the bridge from the trail.
Least Favorite
Nothing major was bad. The road the the parking lot is narrow. The parking lot had an unusual amount of trash in it.
Most Favorite
Not too far from Atlanta for a great day of riding.
Extras
I really liked checking out the railroad bridge. (I've posted a picture)

The trails were a lot of fun, the first day it was wet and really slippery on the red clay. My fiance and I went out there on dirtbikes and she was able to hold her own. The trails also had a lot of good jumps for me. It is not a big park, but there is plenty of riding for a day or so.

It was a very fun, inexpensive trail. Not too many people were there when we went. We stayed in the Tallulah Gorge state park which was only 15 miuntes away and $18 a night for hot showers.
Extras
Parking area was nice, plenty of room. There is a motorcycle shop down the road. She broke her lever and we were able to pick one up and keep riding. Go to Rock Rd. and make a left. The stop sign is right in front of you. Make a left on 17 and follow it until it deadends. Make a left past the Walmart and the shop is on the left.

Very fun place. My first time ever riding there. Lots of whoops every few hundred feet, so if you like jumping this place has hundreds of places to jump. Trail is wide too, so if you get a little out of control in the air you'll have some trail width to regain control upon landing. I would classify these trails as intermediate to some expert sections. Maybe beginner if you went SUPER Slow.....but what fun is it to go slow?!?!
Least Favorite
TONS of ATV's. I was the only bike there on a weekday at 5pm and there were easily a dozen ATVs. Two way traffic, so just be cautious around corners there's not an ATV coming your way. Also, very shocking that everyone I saw riding ATV's was riding WITHOUT a helmet!!!! And I thought I was crazy.
Most Favorite
Lots of elevation change, some fun bermed corners and plenty of places to practice small jumps.
Extras
About as clean as a bad truckstop. Hold your breath.....

Great hill climbs that you can really fly up. Great trail system with a good mix of rocks, hills, turns, singletrack, etc.
Extras
They just opened a new double bathroom (a his and hers). Good to see our $5 going towards something that was very well needed.

All trails are ATV wide with a lot of twists and turns and elevation changes, at least one nice longer hill too. Lots of steep whoops that you can get air on (and a workout) if you so desire. ATVs have bermed up some of the corners. A little bit of rocky stuff on some of the hills to make them interesting. Nothing too difficult for beginner-intermediate but challenging enough to have fun.

Maybe 25 miles total? ... Rode all the trails in a 2 hour outing.

The rain during the week and all the 4-wheelers playing in the mud make it a bit sloppy in places.

Least Favorite
1.) No singletrack.

2.) Two way trails always suck, particularly when you meet a 4-wheeler coming the other way on the best line up a hill. And LOTS of 4-wheelers - Out-numbered the bikes 4:1.
Sorry nothing against Quad riders but they are bigger than me, and the one place they beat me is in a collision ... ;)

There is no reason why this trail system can't be 90% one direction. Just put some signs up. The entire place is a series of loops so why not? I VOLUNTEER THE SIGNS AND LABOR! This place would be a lot more fun if you could open it up with no worries.

Most Favorite
1.) Where can you have more fun for $5.00?

2.) The whoops are a lot of fun and so is bombing up those hills.

3.) Good little trail system, you can make a few different loops and re-ride the ones you like very easily. Or a couple of times through the whole thing and it will be a fun ride.

Extras
Fairly close to me - good for days like this where I don't have all day to ride.

Unloading/loading area - nice!

No bathrooms or garbage cans.

All the trails were in excellent condition although it was a bit dry and dusty. The layout of the trails and the variety of trail types very good. There are a few steep areas and a few tight winding trails. Very few rocks and all the trails are wide and easily ridden by any rider.
Least Favorite
The entry rode is very narrow with deep trenches on both sides. The parking area is too small and could be layed out beter. There are no trash recepticals or bathrooms despite a pretty large number of visitors that I observed. Watch out for oncoming riders. I was disapointed that they closed the trail to the railroad trussle and the Broad River. It would have made a great scenic destination.
Most Favorite
The trails have a lot of variety are fun to ride. Just difficult enough to be interesting and not so difficult so as to be unsafe. It is a great place for beginners to get used to riding the mountains and build skills. Lots of pretty scenery.
Extras
We always meet great people when we ride. We met some real friendly riders at Locust Stake and enjoyed swapping riding stories.
Lots of family groups riding together and having safe fun.
