Power
The xr100 has pretty good power. Probably perfect for a begginner rider. (around 12 yrs. old, because of heighth)
Once it gets into top gears it can really get goin'.But if you're looking for lots of speed in low gears, i dont know if you would want this bike.
Suspension
When I rode this bike the suspension always seemed to bottom out. And we couldnt find where to put the fork oil.
If there one thing that i didnt like it was the suspension.
Brakes
I think it was just my xr that done this but, the brakes were squeeky and didnt work that well, but then again when your riding on the track, you dont really need your brakes THAT much.
Comments
When I had first got the bike it was great. I loved it. its just with time it can get kinda "rusty" ( not literally rusty)

Its power is ok the low-end power is the best but the top end is not very good goes slow probably top 55 mph
Suspension
The suspension is to soft bottoms out on every jump not good at all
Brakes
The breaks are no good you couldent stop if you tried you have to stand on them to stop and they do no good then they wear down fast to the basically just suck.
Comments

powercore 4 opens her up. very nice, usable low end, pulls hard(for 99cc),mid and top are good(its a trail bike). my friend w/ a '99 xr100 has me on top speed by about 3mph but i can almost keep up from starting out in 5th. acceleration is about the same
Suspension
squishy, not too much travel but ideal for trails. it can take the smaller jumps. im 110lbs and it feels like you almost bottom the forks coming down from a wheely. although i never think theyve bottomed.
Brakes
they arent too bad, just make sure have more room to stop. they are able to stoppie but still could use a front disk.
Comments
it kicks hinnie even now that im 5'7"(too big for it) and have a 5x more powerful/faster sx125. i hate to admit it but the xr100 is more fun than the sx125. i know brown brothers(www.bbrmotorsports.com) has a lot of upgrades for it, like stiffer forks/shock springs and a big bore, and works suspension sells 10.5" travel shock for about $450

Power
plenty of trail ridin power for a begining off-roader. Lots of low-end, very good for ruts, hills, mud, and powering out off tight corners in the woods.
Suspension
Suspension is very good for using in woods. Takes roots, bumps, curves very well. Preferably 120 to 145lb rider. It will last long if not used for jumps, often.
Brakes
Excellent for drums. I use the crap out of mine and they'll stop at an instant, also, easy to reach if you are in the woods. Maintain the rear freeplay and your good to go.
Comments
Excellent begginer bike. You can learn on it, but also fine-tune trail-ridin skills on it too, at a young age. It is extremely fun. My friend has a Yamaha (TT-R 125) and I can't burn him on the road, but in the trails, well, he's eating my Big Red's dust.

This bike has great power for a 100 four stroke. I am heavy for this bike and it went nice with me on it. You can stand the bike straight up if you dump the clutch in secoond gear while moving.
Suspension
The suspension is not bad. I doesnt have much travel but I rairly bottomed it out. I used to go off big jumps and it was fine.
Brakes
Not bad for drum. They wont do the job like disc but if you needed to stop quickly they would.
Comments
If this is your first bike you will love it but you will grow out of it quickly.

Power
Decent for a 100 4 stroke. The motor has endless possibilities for improvement. The gearing is very low and benefits beginners. Starts first kick and has a great range of usable power.
Suspension
Decent for smaller riders, but has no adjustments. Is much better than loder xr100's.
Brakes
Drums work well and seem low maintenance.
Comments
Great starter bike for smaller riders and good bike for smaller women.
