kx 80 (Score: +1, Informative)
Power
low end suffers badly but once you hit the powerband then it lifts the tire in each gear. boyesen reeds improve the low end
Ergonomics
a little bit small though i am 5'8"
Suspension, Front
nice feel. absorbs most of the bumps but could use more travel
Suspension, Rear
much to soft. bottomed out each time i jumped it off of a 2 foot jump
Brakes
extremely touchy front brakes. rears dont lock up as easy
Comments
good beginers bike if you like power and easy starting on first kick. nice bike. can play with the bigger bikes and keep up. strong powerband seeing how i ended up on my back a few times. all and all this bike is a rocket

Power
top end only, more peak power than any 80 of that year but you had to keep it on the pipe hard, was an expert only motor, novices couldn't keep it in the powerband,a couple teeth on the rear sprocket made it a little easier
Suspension
forks were very good and bigger than the cr,rm,and yz's,rear was a bit stiff but perfect for fast or heavier riders
Brakes
excellent front disc, rear drum was good
Comments
excellent bike for the time, and looked awesome too.some didn't like it because they were used to the all low end power of the 83,84,and 85 kx,s,this was the bike for bigger mini riders

Power
Hold on tite and ride the gas tank. It has a lot of power for such a small engin.
Suspension
It is not ment for heavy people, maby thats why the rear shok dos not work that well, the front forks are great.
Brakes
They work.
Comments

Power
The power is good for the small little 80 but the low end suffers a bit but not enough to worry about if you don't weigh much.
Suspension
The back suspension is great but the front is soggy.
Brakes
The rear brakes are fair and the front are good.
Comments
The bike is a very nice all around bike and is great for kids and people who don't weigh very much.

Power
It keeps up with my friends 1992 KX80 and beats my friends 1993 KX80 with a pro circuit pipe. My bike is stock except for a high performance piston. My other friends 1987 KX80 is no match for my bike..I don't know what it is but this bike flat out flies with me on it and i weigh 127 lbs. Power is incredible in the powerband..1st 2nd 3rd and 4th gear wheelies..not much out of powerband but in it i hit a ramp and my feet flew off and i did a superman cuz its soo jumpy...but i landed it...but sacrificed my nutz..... >.<
Suspension
back is good but front is a little soft if there is no landing ramp
Brakes
Perfect for me...but i dont like back disk.....but a disk front and drum back is perfect for me. you can easily endo the bike with the front brake
Comments
Sweet step up for beginners...power is great but not too much to if you know how to handle it.
