WILD!
For a guy who rides 65 horse open classers regualarly, I was quite impressed by the curve of the power and the amount. Pro Circuit's porting and pipe, Boyesen's Rad Valve, a Wiseco piston, a milled head and a cleanly jetted carb breathing through a K&N made my new baby a joy to ride on the trails (Type 296 S/A), Cross country (304 with S/A) or straight up moto (R304).
Ergonomics
Hate the brake pedal first off. Too high.
LOVED everything else
Suspension, Front
It's good stock.
Revalved for all around, it was hard to find fault at normal speeds. When the pace picked up, it just couldn't cut it.
Euro Ohlins forks a friend sent me off a older GP bike work wonders for it all!
Suspension, Rear
Stock: Very good!
Modified: It's almost perfection. but it didn't like big chop or slap landings. so...
Ohlins TTX44 shock: Excellent when valved!
Brakes
Stock: Discs. Love 'em.
Back's a little snappier than the front.
Brembo Front/ Stock Rear: Ooooh, yeah. WORKS!
Comments
It CAN be a phenominal bike with lotsa money, time and knowledge.
stock, it's a great all rounder.
Just don't get throttle happy in 5th gear down a fire road without a steering damper.

Power
Lots and lots of power I bought this bike it had 240lbs of compression a year ago. It still has 212 today.
Ergonomics
The controls are nice, and the layout is standard but comfortable.
Suspension, Front
The stock suspension is what it is.. STOCK and mine has been gone through 3 times already and it still feels very hard and will beat you up.
Suspension, Rear
The rear is stock as well but it feels good and respondes nicely
Brakes
brakes perform well as stock can
Comments
Overall, this is a sweet rm250. I love this bike. Lots of power were it counts., fun to ride and I get alot of compliments on how it looks and sounds.

Power
With a Pro Circuit Pipe n Silencer, the power of this bike is huge. It pulls right from the bottom end to the top and will put you on your head if you stop thinking for a second. Goto http://zepher.bikepics.com/pics/suzuki-rm250-98-bikepics-063024.jpg to see my bike. Contact me at Ryan__86@hotmail.com for any questions.
Suspension
This should not be an issue with anyone, suspension can be re-valved to suit anyone, but i am a light rider (60kg) and the stock suspension is on one of the softest settings and suits me down to the ground.
Brakes
Breaks are good, both front and rear lock at and any speed if you want, so it all comes down to the riders ability.
Comments
This has been a great bike for me, if you goto the link above you can see i have put huge amounts of money into this bike because i plan to keep it for a very long time. Its mechanically all stock except for the Pro Circuit pipe n silencer. Keep the carb and airfilter clean and shes right to fly.

Power
The power is good. It has no low end and it goes a little flat up top. The power valve is adjustable so in the stock position it is very smooth. Turn it in a bit and it will almost loop out when you go from idle to wide open. It's a very responsive motor with lethal throttle response. If you know how to ride it it's is actually pretty fast. Novices think its GUTLESS because they dont know how to ride it. No problem, just keep it wide open (and use the lethal cornering) and you'll kick everyones ass out of the corners. By the time they catch up you are already in the next corner pulling away again. Its not the fastest bike on the track but it is not slow at all. Especially after you fix the power valve. Its not exactly my 53 hp 98 KX (built by Pro-Circuit) but that bike is more than a little gnarly in the woods (i ride Moto). The RM is much frendlier for trail riding. Just stay away from the low end.
Suspension
I never rode it stock. REP did the revalving and it works great.
Brakes
Nice feel and great power at the front. A little softer feel and more power and it would be perfect. It has more than enough power to throw novices over the bars. The rear feels a little spongy but it has great power. I guess you could say it has a lot of feel.
Comments
Im an expert/A rider so I dont complain about bikes. I'm not going to blame a bad finish on a bad bike. I could win on a CR80 if i had to. Its 90% rider 10% bike. Its not a bad bike so dont let bad reveiws bother you. Even B riders cant use the full potential of late model 250's. If you find one in good shape for a good price you wont be disapointed. If you want more power send the motor out to pro-circuit and it will come back with 51 very hard hitting horse power. Do you think you can handle that kind of power?
