Dude. NO! (Score:1)
Power
NO BALLZ, Off idle power is sad, why would honda do this? Mid hits way hard and the over rev is kinda funny considering the dispacement, The CR480R has a way better motor, this thing is a piece of junk.
Ergonomics
Too tall kinda funny sitting position. Bleh i dont like this thing, i think ill sell it for something green. Funky fork angle.
Suspension, Front
Odd fork angle and way too soft springs. Forks dive in corners dispite my best efforts to solve. Springs, oil levels and such didnt help.
Suspension, Rear
Good for big air, not stable at speed, i like my 84 CR250R way better. This thing is too tall and heavy.
Brakes
Disk up frount grabs and the rear brake faids really easily. ALL BAD
Comments
Dont buy one, get something newer or something else.

Power
wow, some incredible mid range power. this is uncontrollable power!!
Suspension
not the best in the world, the back is too harsh.
Brakes
great front disk brake, without the disk the bike would not stop with only two drums!!!!
Comments
this bike is not for the weak. this bike is a serious machine, the only thing that stops it from being good is the fact that the piston goes every month!!! by the way i need a cylinder and piston for my cr please email me if you have one!!

Power
Ok in stock form. You have to try different carb jetting fro your own like.
Suspension
Rear shock is junk, I own a white bros. Fron forks need attention if you want to jump alot. I am a woods rider and they are ok
Brakes
Great front disk average rear drums
Comments
I have had this bike since 85 and love it. Are there better 500's? Sure I can make a list but this bike is tons of fun for me to ride

Power
No bottom, MEGA mid, no top. The sudden transition from no power to all power scares the hell out of you. The engine also pings like hell and blows itself up alot.
Suspension
OK, forks are a bit harsh and overdamped on compression and underdamped on rebound, like a pogostick. Shock is overdamped as well, but the performance will fade after about 20 minutes. Change this shockoil frequently.
Brakes
This was the first year Honda put a disc on a dirtbike and it kicks ass. Rear has a drumbrake but this is OK.
Comments
When you want high maintenance costs and soiled riding pants from instantanious power, this bike is for you. Otherwise don't buy it !! In stock condition I would rate it an F, because of the engine, but with carburetor changes and headmilling it is worth a C.
