Power
Not very strong low end (what 125 has alot of low end?), packs a big punch in the mid range and revs out pretty well. Not as much top end as would be desired for fast motocross action but experimenting with different pipe/reeds combinations will fix this.
Suspension
Very good. Only problem is the aluminum frame sort of lets you feel it. Depending on your weight and riding style, you may need a re valve or stiffer springs. In my case experimenting with the clickers and seting the sag made me feel very comfortable with the suspension
Brakes
Awesome, I love the honda front brake routing and the front and rear brakes are very strong.
Comments
Definitely a good fast motocross bike. There are better stock MX bikes out there but if you insist on riding a honda, just a few modifications will keep it up to todays Amateur's motocross scene as well as providing for a fast bike for weekend warriors.

Power
Great power when jetted correctly. Many people complain about the power, and it is hard to jet, but if you find the right settings you will be rewarded. Great midrange and top. I ran the 250 airboot and a shorty silincer, and used 92octane pump fuel w/ 32:1 HP2 synthetic oil.
Suspension
Feels harsh b/c of the aluminum frame, I think. I never got the suspension to work how I liked. It was always harsh.
Brakes
Great brakes. No worries.
Comments
Super hard seat. This is nice sometimes, but can hurt your back at times, too. Very roomy bike, and I like the way it feels.

Power
Not very good power and it didn't get much better after having FMF do everthing they could i:e: Porting, milled head bore carb. match cases, pipe silencer, reeds and block.
Suspension
The suspension jangled pretty bad and didn't get to much better after thousands spent on it.
Brakes
Great brakes
Comments
There are way better bikes out there.

Power
The bike i thought had great low end power with the fmf fatty pipe applied and it has a very smooth middle and top end. It is perfect for those short like supercross tracks
Suspension
The suspension i think is kinda firm but it was much better than the 97's and also i would rate the suspension better than the 99's
Brakes
The brakes do a very good job and if you are wanting to show off and do an endo this bike does one perfectly. It also holds up very well in sand
Comments
I don't know why honda even made a 99' model if it is almost exactly like the 98 i even think the 98 is an overall better holding up bike with it graphics able to stay on for many rides in the wet or mudding environment.

Power
No low end ,a little midrange and a ton of top end.if you keep the rpm's up it flies!
Suspension
Soaked up jumps very well. some bottoming in certian cases but oh well suspension is good to say the least.
Brakes
The best however mine squeaked a little after a few rides
Comments
I think that honda should have left the 97 125 alone and put the aluminum frame on the the 500 instead
