Power
this bike is quite impressive for a 200. low to mid is actually pretty decent i thought it was going to be a big bore 125 all top not the case. this bike has climbed every hill that my brothers yz 250 of the same year will climb.
Suspension
very nice very plush yet respond swell to big hits.
Brakes
EXCELLENT both disks work great.
Comments
this bike is pretty much the perfect trail 2 stroke .

Power
Has very good top speed for a 200 and has good kick in it also. Stock bike can reach 85-88 tops.
Suspension
Great suspension. Wonderful for trails but not too good for jumping. Front seems a lot more loose than the rear.
Brakes
Brakes work fine. No sticking at all.
Comments
Great bike! I have a KDX 200 89 and a 03 and I use my 89 mostly because it works better for jumping.

Power
THE POWER,WELL THERE WERE TWO DIFFERENT MODELS IN 89 THERE WAS THE "E" MODEL AND ROAD REGESTRIBLE MODEL.I HAVE HAD THE CHANCE OF RIDING BOTH AND OWN AN "E"
MODEL WHICH GOES VERY HARD FOR A SMALL BORE ENDURO BIKE WHERAS THE ROAD MODEL WAS VERY USELESS IN THE POWER DEPARTMENT THERE WAS NO POWER SUGE AT ALL UNLIKE THE "E" MODEL WHICH HIT PRETTY HARD LIFTING THE FRONT WHEEL OFF THE GROUND.
Suspension
SUSPENSION WAS NOT TOO BAD IT HAD ADJUSTERS AND WHEN TENSED RIGHT UP AND WITH HEAVIER FLUID IT WAS CAPABLE OF DOUBLES AND OTHER MOTORCROSS JUMPS. AS FOR THE ROAD MODEL CRAP UNLESS KEPT ON THE ROAD
Brakes
EXCELLENT DISC BRAKES ON THE BIKE THEY COULD PULL YOU UP VERY QUICKLY AND THE FRONT WERE CAPABLE OF ENDOS AND NOSE MANUALS.
THE ROAD MODEL HAD THE SAME BRAKES BUT IT DIDNT GO A QUICK SO NOT MUCH NEED TO USE THEM
Comments
GOOD BIKE YOU CAN BEAT MX 250S IF YOU KNOW HOW TO RIDE IT.
