Power
Awesome. I came from a 2000' CR125 to the 88' 250. And as they say, 250 is really twice the bike. When you open up the throttle, hang on! Coming from 125, you can really give the bike a hard time, but with 250 The bike owns you. Goes faster than I ever want to on trails.

And years don't really matter, wether it's 90mdl or 2000mdl engine's havn't changed much, mostly bike design, weight distribution and handling, models produced today are not much faster.
Suspension
Was fine for me, I weigh in at 80kg. I only forest ride too. Has never bottom out, even with 2 up on the seat going through some 4x4 trails, makes you realise there is alot of travel up the rear.
Brakes
Fine, I don't race 250 so they don't get pushed hard much in the bush.
Comments
Great fun!
It was an awesome introduction into the 250 2stroke world. I just sold the bike recently after owning it for 2 years.

Only changed the rear brake pads once, and 1 x piston kit so it's been a very cost effective toy

Power
Power is excellent, no engine mods needed, power is consistent through all gears if done right.
No bike of the same era has the power and speed than this bike, in stock form.
Suspension
The full-floater is simply a masterpiece
I've never bottomed it out, the front is somewhat soft even after a rebuild it still seemed a little bouncy through woops.
Brakes
Front braking is ok, but rear is total crap. I replaced the rear disk and caliper with a new Nissin, problem solved. I also replaced all brake hoses with braided linings - for those crash days.
Comments
The bike is great overall, but I prefer my Honda. My brother is currently using my RM250 and he seems to be handling the bike quite well and picking up wins left, right and centre.

the bike is verry strong on the bottom and mid but has little on top,but then
<br />
again its not a 125 you don't need to wind her out, just keep shifting in the power curve and you'll fly!
