Power
the power is good, really nice set up, it will get around teh trails very nicely, it can get up hills good, and go through rivers and everything, this is a really nice trail bike
Suspension
the front was ok, but the back was really nice, it was really plush and even off of a big double the rear still wouldnt bottom.. realy nice setup, i like it
Brakes
front are the best i have seen but the rear seemed to wear the pads out fast, but worked well when they worked
Comments

Power
very tractable engine for only 200cc. and pulls well from low revs. Once on the band provides plenty of power especiallly in point to point type riding. Have massaged the barrel pretty well, rejetted and found it great.
Suspension
I am 220 pounds and have found the suspension soft. Revalving the rear shock and replacing the spring with a 5.4 kg replacement did wonders. Front shock left stock and works reasonably well with 10wt oil.
Brakes
Front lacks a bit of feel but still works fine. rear drum doesn't lock on mine and have no complaints
Comments
Overall, a great bike. My mates all have later and greater weapons but I find the KDX can only be beaten if you are riding in open, high speed situations. It may be old but don't be deceived.

it is an awsome bike and aftermarket is all over it. with a few mods it could compete with 250's

Power
Wierd! It's like a 125. It is slow getting through the low-rpm. Then, BAM! You've hit the powerband hard. It has a AWESOME powerband. Good wheelspinnin' power. Good SNAP to the power. :)
Suspension
I weigh 205 and I had no problems with the front. Except off big doubles at the track. They seem to bottem. But, the rear, I had no problems. Worked great!
Brakes
Front brake worked perfect. But, the rear would stick pretty bad. But, it would lock!
Comments
I added all the aftermarket I could get my hands on, to keep my thrills to a max as my skills grew. This is the perfect bike for anybody! Theirfore I will give a A++.

Power
bike pulls from the very bottom and actually has a fair punch on top
Suspension
suspensionworks fine for trail riding at moderate speeds. Forks could use some work too keep them from bottoming so easily.
Brakes
Learn to use that front brake because in a muddy race, the rear drum will fill up w/mud and self destruct. (mudbucket).....you could plant some pansies in them!
Comments
I have owned an '87 and '88 KDX200. Iraced them both in many races. Should make a great weekend warrior happy, just memorize your owners manual.

Power
suprisingly a very quick bike. the power is really spread out through the entire power curve. if you want a super hard hitting power band like a 250 kx, take off your power valve leaver and put a spacer in behind the valve so it doesnt shut at low rpms. this sacrifices bottom end but really kicks hard in mid to top end.(just for something to do)p.s: a bit harder to start as well, sometimes
Suspension
front is a bit soft but can fix that by incerting longer preload pipe into the top of the shocks, rear is very good
Brakes
front is pretty good but chews through the pads quick, back is awsome, locks up if you need it
Comments
overall an exellent allround bike, awsome for enduroes, but for mx you have to be about 50kgs, for supercross hahahaha.

Power
the power is very hard hitting. it has no low end but when u get into the power band u better hold on to your ass because if u dont hold on thats were u will end up
Suspension
the suspension is awsome. i rode a friends 2000 kx125 and it bottomed out on a jump that the kdx will feel like a pilow.
Brakes
the front breaks are the best i ever used but the rear is very stickey. if u use them u better be ready to stop and unlock them
Comments
it is a very nice bike and if u get a chance to buy one i would recomend that u get it.i would recomend geting some all the aftermarket that u can get. it make phonomanal bike...

Power
Excellent engine, hard hitting power, a smooth powerband for the time that bike was produced. Very good low end power, all the way to mid, can wheelie to about 4th gear. Good top end, can do about 70 mph. When you open it all the way up it screams like a KX, but is quiet and well mannered in every gear except 5th and 6th. Will chug along with low RPM's. The air cooled engine holds up pretty well, it stays cool for a while, but the newer engines are much better, although a little more complicated and harder to fix.
Suspension
Front is pretty bad, it keeps the wheel on the groung, but all around it is way too soft. The bike has a decent amount of travel, but it is soaked up really fast, also you have to replace the bearings often
Brakes
Front brake is pretty bad....it is a disc, but the rear drum works better, locks up pretty easily, and stops you when you need it.
Comments
Great beginner, trail bike. At the time they hit the nail on the head, however compared to the new KDX 200 the suspension and brakes are weak. The engine on the newer bikes is better, but not by a whole lot. Very fun.
