Power
low end was like walking. it flew through gears too quickly and you didnt gain much speed in between each one. 5th gear probably had me going 80 mph tops.
Suspension
the rear shock was rebuilt for someone that weighs 1/4 of a ton. it was stiff, but never bottomed out on jumps.
Brakes
the rear brakes were messed up so i cant tell you about them. the front had a disk and worked nicely.
Comments
faster than my kl175, slower tahn my bultaco 250. great for cruzing, wheelies, but the power was upsetting.

Power
For a 125 this bike was gutsy. Nothing like my 490, but definitly one of the most powerful 125's of the day.
Suspension
It has all new rear supension and fairly new rebuilt forks, and it works fine, and I weigh 215lbs. Not the greatest for off-road, but good for motocross.
Brakes
They stop much better then my 490! But thats because it's an 82 with dual drums.
Comments
If you are in the market for an older 125 get this one for sure. I have never seen a 125 take so much abouse and low maintenance.

Power
Dude! power was crap. It was hard to start and wasn't very fast. No matter what you do to it, it always ran rich.
Suspension
Suspension was terrible. The front end was so heavy that everytime you got air off a jump, the bike wanted to nose dive.
Brakes
Ok! but the biggest problem is the rear brake. Since the rear brake is right under the silencer, oil from the silencer got between the gear sprocket and the brakes and onto the linings. Big Problem!
Comments
I recommend to anybody that has this bike to sell it. Plus, I've already tried getting parts for it and most of them are discontinued. I work on this bike more than I ride it. Trust me, it's not worth it.

it wasn't that bad at all. but the seals in the rear broke very often and there was always a nitrogen leak! front always fork dived and couldn't handle the life of a motocrosser, totally CrAzY!
Brakes
front disk made a difference but the back was feeble and useless!

Boy, did NOHAND hit it on the head. This year was trash! Horrible power. None worth having. Don't try to think it may go fast with mods! IT WONT! At least it would pull a awesome wheelie! But, that's all it's good for.
Suspension
It actually wasn't bad. Didn't try a big jump with it. But, it survived everything else.
Brakes
Front worked. Rear worked. (like NOHAND said, you won't need them)
Comments
Boy, this bike is crap. It was trash. Don't buy it. I thought it would workout. But, even with a DG exhaust pipe and PC silencer. It was worthless. Not much pull. And seriously, any mx-80cc bike will toast it. (?) I don't know what Yamaha was thinking this year. Bike didn't go fast enough to worry about brakes. :)

Oh man, This year was a lemon! The bike was hard to start even brand new and it never went fast anyway. If you have that bike, do yourself a favor; sell it. Don't do like me and try to convince yourself it has potential. It doesn't have any.
Suspension
Pretty average. It's OK for that time.
Brakes
Front is good but rear is average. Anyway, you won't need more.
Comments
The power-valve components get slack quick and don't even seal enough to make a difference on that model.
