this bike is a deathride, its got lots of power and a killer powerband, you can throw dirt a long ways with it, I smoked a 85 kx125 and a yamaha 350 warrier
Suspension
there pretty good but a little soft
Brakes
pretty damn good for drum brakes
Comments

Power
That bike made crazy power for that time. It went alot faster than my 85' YZ125. OK, I know the 85YZ125 was a toad that year but still, that 83YZ80 motor was a killer even compared to a 87KX80 and a 95YZ80. The punch in the midrange was so much fun, you always think you're gonna kill yourself on that ride but you survive; how cool!
Suspension
The suspension was allright except that I kept bending the fork tubes. I ended up having to buy the 85 forks; which were stronger and had stiffer springs. The stock fork was a bit soft. The shock was allright if you're on top of your maintenance.
Brakes
No complaints here. They are not disc brakes but they do the job.
Comments
This is such a fun bike to have. You will smoke all the 4 wheelers you meet. You get the bonus of not paying too much for a bike that age.
