Power
Very stronge but my bike has been bored 80 over and has a DG pipe. Lots of low end mid range and flat on top. Kills tires if you dont watch it and not spin that much.
Suspension
Needs to be rebuilt about I'd say every one to two years.
Brakes
Good for drums just replaced the pads on mine.
Comments
If you have one of these bikes especially like mine which is european style with the kick on the left then good luck finding parts it took me 2 weeks to make a kick lever from off an old suzuki and I had to make a shifter too off of an old street bike.

Power
pretty good for an older bike, it can accelerate harder than any other bike that has no tread on their tyre! but once a new tyre is on the 89 model it floggs the 83 model!
Suspension
needs to be rebuilt. too soft and no gas left, only relies on springs to bounce. doesn't handle jumps very well because to soft.
Brakes
for drums......when slow they work alright but u need a lot of room to slow down from speed, coz they are old drum brakes after all
Comments
apparently they are buggers to get parts for, everyone has parts for the other models besides the 83. over all if u get it cheap and runs well then its a good bike.....i wouldn't pay $1800 for one, not even $450.

Power
A real Sidewinder. this bike has lots of power and then some to spare. It would throw you back quicker than you on your fat wife. This bike will plant your but in the ground as I so found out.
Suspension
Lots of travel. It doesn't bottom out on big jumps and soaks up the trail bumps
Brakes
Stops on a dime. Well, the wheels lock up and you slide forever. But overall if your on asphalt you stop instantly.
Comments
I believe this bike is an excellent bike and that everyone should have one.
